What the bleep do we know?

No iam not trying to bad mouth anybody here. This is the title of a movie. I dont know whether i can say it as a movie?.It is actually a documentary with some actors ,animation and interviews of lot of scientists.

"Can your consciousness alter the state of a material"?. Meaning can your thoughts change a physical material?.I would say no it can't.But the movie say yes and gives some scientific info about that also. One of the important evidence that it puts forth is Dr. Emoto water's 'expressions.'

Dr. Masaru Emoto is a japanese scientist has developed a new technique. He was able to do some high-speed photography of newly formed crystals of frozen water samples using a very powerful microscope. Not all water samples crystallize however. Water samples from extremely polluted rivers directly seem to express the 'state' the water is in.

Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. He found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors.more

These are the photographs of the water crystal

when exposed to words like

You Make Me Sick

For words of love and gratitude

For the Mozart symphony

So they say your thoughts are affecting the material(water in this case). And since the world and ourselves are made up of major portion of water we can affect each other and the world as a whole with our thoughts.

The photographs really caught me.The change there is clearly evident, your thoughts are changing a physical material. This will answer a lot of questions on prayers and the various things that are being talked about by the spiritual people. But personally iam not sure about this whole thing.

The movie grabs your attention at the start and then keeps you in a mesmerized state and lot of scientist and spiritual people talks about related and unrelated stuff which you are made to believe has got something to do with the concept.

One of those golden statements that was uttered, but how it relates to the whole movie, i forgot.
God must be greater than the greatest of human weaknesses and, indeed, the greatest of human skill. God must even transcend our most remarkable-to emulate nature in its absolute splendor. How can any man or woman sin against such greatness of mind? How can one little carbon unit on Earth-in the backwaters of the Milky Way, the boondocks-betray God almighty? That is impossible. The height of arrogance is the height of control of those who create God in their own image.

It also talk in length about quantum physics and multiple realities existing at the same time. The movie also does a richard bach style you can change your future if you believe in it stuff. As previously said if your consciousness can affect one material like water then probably it can affect many other materials also.so they say if you consciously plan how your day should be it will become so.
I wake up in the morning and I consciously create my day the way I want it to happen. Now sometimes, because my mind is examining all the things that I need to get done, it takes me a little bit to settle down and get to the point of where I'm actually intentionally creating my day. But here's the thing: When I create my day and out of nowhere little things happen that are so unexplainable, I know that they are the process or the result of my creation. And the more I do that, the more I build a neural net in my brain that I accept that that's possible. (This) gives me the power and the incentive to do it the next day.

So if we're consciously designing our destiny, and if we're consciously from a spiritual standpoint throwing in with the idea that our thoughts can affect our reality or affect our life -- because reality equals life -- then I have this little pact that I have when I create my day.

what this has done is many celebrities are jumping into this concept of consciously creating your day and this movie is kind of becoming a cult.

This is the official web site of the movie. It has lot & lots of materials on the movie, the book and the whole cult thing.

Interesting post Sen.. and thanks for sharing the movie info.

Talking abt water..I heard there is an accepted way of chanting mantras/saying prayers with a glass of water. The belief is if one focuses on the glass of water and say the prayer and later drink the same water the prayer has more effect on that person.
I am not sure if there is any proof for the same, i havent tried so am yet to believe.

Very interesting post.If this is n't proof enough for the power of positive energy through thoughts and emotions!!
Thanks.

ML,
Long time no c.back from your break??.

usha,
thanxs for stopping by.

This a superb movie on conciuousness and they even managed to get science heavyweights to render in the idea. And all presented in a straighforward simple manner. Absolutely loves the ice crystal images and the wedding party scenes.

ghost
yes it is.Atlast someone who has seen the movie :).

Movie is absolutey fantastic. I happen to have a scientiffic background, and want to say something that is very missunderstood in this movie and Emoto.

They are not claming that you can change matter, they are providing the theoretical bases on which it absolutely makes sense.

This idea is older then our civilisation by the way.

As for Emoto and the "research to disprove" his validity.

To disprove his work one would have to not research the current chemistry of water and forming of christals. People thought the earth was flat and killed more people then we will ever know based on the approach that moves no further then observing the obvious and present knowledge and beliefs. it is about keeping a very open mind.

You should see the extended version of the movie.

If one is critical of methods applied then one has to provide a plausable counter results.

Meaning, you preform the experimetns independently from anyone elses knowledge and observe the results, while making sure that all criticizm is supported by evidence.

If we are to disprove Emoto's work, we are also to disprove everything contradicting Emoto's work untill practicaly proven otherwise.
